At our Kabbalat Shabbat service on Friday, November 15th, we heard from one of today’s most influential voices in Eastern Europe in support of Israel and in rallying against the aggression of Russia and Iran, Latvian Member of Parliament (MEP) Rihards Kols. MEP Kols was joined by Marta Kubica and David Siegel. The introduction was given by Cantor Goldstein.

For more than a decade, NSCI families have come together the weekend before Thanksgiving to pack Thanksgiving meals for the families of Whittier Elementary. Whittier is a K–5 grade school whose families all experience some food insecurity, and are extremely appreciative of our community's generosity. This program helps to nurture NSCI's long standing relationship with our neighbors in Waukegan. -

This Shabbat service will feature NSCI college students sharing their stories of being Jewish on campus. We invite all college students visiting home this weekend to come celebrate Shabbat with your NSCI community! The students speaking this year will be Ben Shapiro who is a Senior at the University of Illinois and Jordyn Novick who is a Senior at the University of Michigan. -
